Teatro Comunale (Municipal Theatre)
Description
Opera, dance and symphonic theatre: this theatre overlooking Piazza Verdi is the most important in the city. Renovated after a fire that burned it completely in 1743, it reopened in May 1763 with the first performance of Gluck’s Il trionfo di Clelia. With around 80 opera performances and 30 symphonic concerts, the Comunale today continues its tradition of excellence with productions signed by Luca Ronconi, Bob Wilson and the great conductors of the world stage.
