Museo civico Archeologico (Civic Archaeological Museum)
Description
For lovers of ancient history, this journey starts from Prehistory and goes all the way to Roman history, passing through the Etruria of the Po Valley and its capital Felsina (former name for Bologna). The journey then continues in Egypt, with one of the most important collections of Egyptian antiquities in Europe: mummies, sarcophagi and jewels will make you imagine the great Pharaohs. You can also admire masterpieces of Greek and Roman art.
Right from the Archaeological Museum you can access the Archiginnasio Library: through the storage rooms – usually closed to visitors – you can scour the museum from top to bottom! The toilets are accessible, and the staff is very attentive and polite.
