Botanical garden and herbarium
Description
This small-medium sized botanical garden is one of the oldest in Europe and Italy (together with those in Pisa, Padua and Florence, all dating back to the sixteenth century); there precious historical collections of dried plants (about 130.000), collected from the sixteenth century onwards, are preserved.
The botanical garden is accessible and all its parts can be visited. In some places the gravel causes the wheelchair to sink a little, but with the help of an accompanying person it is easy to move. Entry is free.
