Biblioteca Sala Borsa (Library)
Description
The Salaborsa is one of the main public multimedia libraries in the city; located inside Palazzo d’Accursio, it overlooks Piazza Nettuno and Via Ugo Bassi. Once inside, through the glass floor the visitor can admire a glimpse of the ancient foundations of the city: the Villanovan remains of the 7th century B.C., the Etruscan Felsina, and the Roman Bononia, founded in 189 B.C. Moreover, in the area now occupied by the Salaborsa, the foundations of a monumental public building were found, which was probably the city basilica. In addition to being a well-stocked library full of reading proposals (books, newspapers, magazines, but also DVDs), it hosts temporary exhibitions in its premises. On the ground floor you can find the cafeteria and an accessible reading room (with toilet).
Due to its central position it is easily reachable and completely accessible: at the entrance, the central hall forks into two somewhat steep but practicable descents. Toilet is accessible.
